Inntopia Commerce + Nexio®

Nexio is a tokenized payment gateway offered by Inntopia that can also include fraud protection.

Payments processed through Inntopia's integration with Nexio can be automatically protected by Kount® .

The Inntopia + Nexio integration offers Inntopia partners the flexibility to process transactions through Nexio's processor and any Nexio-supported payment gateways OR through another processor and payment gateway combination which can "pass through" Nexio and still reap the benefits of tokenization and fraud protection.

The Inntopia + Nexio integration gives Inntopia partners the advantage of tokenization and Kount protection whether they choose Nexio as their processor/payment gateway or use a pass-through combination.

Partners have multiple processor and gateway choices from which to choose. Each combination offers different processing rates; therefore, Inntopia recommends discussing with Nexio which partnership model works best for them.

Nexio partnership models include:

Processing Partner

  • Nexio is the processor.
  • Partner chooses from multiple Nexio-supported payment gateways, including their existing gateway if it falls within the Nexio network.
  • Using Nexio's preferred payment gateway may result in better rates.
  • Provides tokenization and fraud protection advantages included with the integration.

Platform Partner

  • Partner connects to an alternate processor and payment gateway through the Nexio platform.
  • The alternate processor and payment gateway must fall within the Nexio network of supported processors and gateways.
  • Referred to as the "pass- through" model.
  • Provides tokenization and fraud protection advantages included with the integration.
Notes:
  • Canadian partners using the Nexio payment gateway AND Nexio processing services must have a US-based bank account.
  • Canadian partners using ONLY Nexio’s payment gateway do not need a US-based bank account.
  • The Nexio network includes an extensive list of processors and payment gateways. If a processor or payment gateway you want to use is not currently included in the Nexio network, it can likely be added. For questions about processors and gateways in the Nexio network or about adding to the network, contact Inntopia Partner Services or your Nexio representative.
  • Kount fraud protection is included with each transaction (unless opted out).

  • Works in both Inntopia CRS and Inntopia eComm.
  • Existing payment gateways can "pass-through" the Nexio gateway (must fall within the Nexio network of supported gateways).
  • Charges and refunds related to new and cancelled itineraries are supported.
  • Charges and refunds related to modified itineraries. Charge/refund amounts are increased/decreased depending on the modification.
  • Deposit schedule payments. The same credit card used for the initial payment is automatically used for subsequent deposits.
  • Available to U.S., Canadian, and Australian sales channels.

Kount AI-Driven Fraud Protection is automatically included in the Inntopia + Nexio integration. Fraud protection checks occur post payment authorization.

Tokenization for the Inntopia + Nexio integration is provided in Nexio via TokenEx.

The Inntopia + Nexio integration always requires Card Verification Digits (CVD) or Card Verification Value (CVV) code.

Address Verification Service (AVS) is a part of credit card authorization that aids in preventing fraudulent online transactions by verifying the billing address submitted by a customer with the billing address on file with the credit card company. Once submitted, the credit card company replies to the payment gateway with a response code indicating whether or not the billing address, and subsequently card ownership, is verified as a match.

In the Inntopia + Nexio integration, AVS is supported through Nexio (rather than through an Inntopia setting).

The Nexio integration uses the Wallet entry form in Inntopia CRS for collecting and storing customer credit card information. This entry form is different from the form used in other Inntopia payment gateway integrations.

The following features are currently not supported in the Inntopia + Nexio integration:

  • Multi-currency pricing – Coming soon
  • Alternative payment methods (other than credit cards)
  • Currencies other than US, Canada, and Australia
  1. Partner works with Nexio to create a new account and determine the best processor/payment gateway combination for their needs.
  2. Partner provides the following to Inntopia:
    • Sales Channel ID
    • Desired go-live date
  3. Inntopia Partner Services enables the Nexio gateway for the requested online sales channel.
  4. Inntopia Implementation or Partner Services team works with Partner to conduct test bookings to facilitate card charges from the various sections where charges/refunds are enacted.
  5. Once testing is complete, Partner goes live on the integration.

Allow at least 10 working days to complete the setup/testing.
